The purpose of this site is to inform the Philadelphia Pagan community, folk interested in Pagan, Wiccan, Earth-based, or other Pantheistic paths, about local Pagan events, groups, and gatherings. It also lists local shops that stock material of Pagan orientation, and publications of Pagan interest. In addition, there are links to some pages we thought were good sources of information on the web, or just nice pagan homepages. We established The Broom Closet to fill this need in March 1997, and we hope it will let area Pagans find each other and become active in the community. The trees are full (of pollen) , the Raritan is flowing (what is that floating in it?) and the flowers are abloom (even the poison ivy) , so you know what that means... that's right you need to stock up on Benadryl... but it also means that it's time for the annual Hands of Change Pagan Picnic!!! This year we're changing stuff up a bit, getting back to basics by learning and playing together as a community. We'll be doing some crafts stuff, playing some games, and doing some rituals. But best of all we'll be coming together as a community to share the latest news, have a bite to eat and meet friends old and new. As always, this is the place where those of various Pagan paths (Heathens are always welcome too!) can come together and share their commonalities. Maybe come across a kindred soul along a similar path or learn about some other interesting experiences along a path you never knew about. We will have a few vendors selling their wares and services. And there is a playground right in the center of the grove for young ones. If you have the means, we do appreciate people to bring a potluck dish. July 12: Week One: Introduction to Tarot In this class, we will explore an overview of the history of the Tarot and the symbols behind the images on the cards. We will discuss how to begin your study of the Tarot. July 19: Week Two: Interpreting Cards and Giving Readings. In this class, we will explore the meanings of the cards in more depth and also explore how to interpret the images and give readings either for yourself or others. July 26: Week Three: Introduction to the Tree of Life In this class, we will learn about the glyph representing the Qabala, the Tree of Life. This class will lead naturally into our next two classes.
